We can give you the best advice and options to enable you to make the right choice for your property. We will always consider every option and look at efficiency, life span and cost when evaluating the works needed. Flat roofs, Terraces and Balconies often require a higher level of maintenance compared to tile and slate roofs. We are a team of experienced professionals and ensure that the work is completed to the highest standard.
There are 3 types of flat roofs that we cover:
3 Layer Felt - Reinforced bituminous membrane
GRP (Glass Reienforced Plastic)
Asphalt
3 Layer Felt
The modern 3 layer felt roofing system provides an upgrade on the traditional bitumen and stone chip system of felt roofing. This roofing system offers the key benefit of resistance to ultra violet rays that heavily impact flat roofs on dormers and extensions.
GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic)
GRP systems utilise fiber glass for waterproofing flat roofs, this composite material is formed with fine fibres made of glass that are strengthening with a plastic resin. GRP laminate has been used to waterproofing roofs since the last 1960's although it's popularity has increased in recent years. GRP roofing system is highly regarded for its simplicity and safety, while the finished product it produces is recognised as having a lifespan that easily betters that of a felt roof.
Asphalt
This is a very versatile and long-lasting material often used to surface driveways, carparks and roads. Asphalt is also a fantastic material for flat roofing. Mastic asphalt is the asphalt variant often used for flat roofs which contains a compound of asphalt, limestone aggregate and limestone powder. Mastic Asphalt is heated in boiler and trowelled on to achieve a smooth finish on flat roofs, terraces and balconies.
